Sydney Aquarium

Sydney Aquarium is an amazing attraction, featuring five separate habitat exhibitions of Australian ocean, estuarine, and river creatures. To give you an idea of the size of this world renowned educations, conservation, and hospice centre, would you believe their 2 millions litres Great Barrier Reef habitat exhibit alone, is or approaches the entire size of other aquariums? Not a surprising statistic from the largest island, containing the most diverse ranges of aquatic animals on earth.

Thousands of tropical to cold, fresh and salt water fishes, mammals, and other amazing creatures are on display. Many are endemic and rare, such as the maligned, fearsomely toothed, yet harmless Grey Nurse Shark, or the gruesome looking crocs. These, and other species, are slowly turning the tide from the sheer of extinction. The Sydney Aquarium displays magnificent collections that represent most of the spectrum of Australia's valued marine ecology. Included are two orphaned dugongs, of only 5 to 10 protected in the world. Walk through and under these awesome rivers and oceans, feeling and seeing the aquatic life swim beside and over you. Hear the expert commentaries in free show and tell sessions, and see thre residents fed. They are unique experiences.
